Twitter announced the new feature in which Twitter users will earn money from exclusive tweets and other content they provide to their followers. This new feature called "Super Follow" at a virtual analyst event.
The 'exclusive content' feature would bring about a new way of earning revenue for Twitter users as they will be able to charge for extra material from their followers and it can therefore include a variety of subscriber-only content like videos, deals, discounts, newsletter, among other things. The 'super follow' feature is going to be available to Twitter users this year, according to a company spokesperson.
Twitter launched as part of Twitter's goal to improve its business. Twitter is generally renowned for its short messages that are broadcasted to a large audience, but now it is going to diversify the platform further. Twitter is trying to build more ways in which people could hold conversations.
Now users can promote business with twitter-like discounts, deals, and content on Twitter. witter will also be bringing forth a hosting platform for live audio discussions, similar to Clubhouse. 'Twitter Spaces' is currently in the testing stage, allowing around a thousand users to make use of the service.
Twitter also acquired a newsletter publishing service earlier called Revue. It would let people share long-form content as well. The social media giant is going to allow the creation of 'communities' to cater to the particular interests of its users.
Twitter users will get the option to cancel the subscription anytime they want. It is currently unknown when Twitter will release this feature.
The paid subscription feature of Twitter will not only help wide-ranging creators, but also reporters, which might impact publications all over the world.
Twitter is also all set to add a feature called “Communities,” which will likely work like the way Facebook Groups works. Users will be able to create a group and those who share the same interest will be able to join that group. The rest of the details are currently under wraps.
The service will also soon add a “safety mode” feature as well, which will allow users to auto-block or mute abusive accounts, which has long been a complaint on the platform.
